On this visit to the “Galería de las Colecciones Reales” (Royal Collections Gallery) you will discover different spaces in a three-storey museum with works of art: painting, sculpture, carriages, tapestries, clocks, musical instruments… travelling through five centuries of history chronologically starting with the Catholic Monarchs and reflecting the personal tastes of the monarchs and their families of each dynasty.

The Spanish Monarchy accumulated wealth and its eagerness to show power, love of art and its work as a patron of the arts together with the Monarchy’s close ties to the Catholic faith explains the great hoarding of works of art.

The singularity of some of the pieces makes the museum unique, where the guide will convey the taste that the monarchs had for music, which today is kept alive thanks to the different concerts that continue to be played during the seasons with more than a thousand documents and scores that the institution treasures, or you can also see the exaltation of power with the “Dessert” of the Glories of Spain. The tapestries following the cartoons of Goya and Rubens.

You will enjoy an incredible journey enjoying the art, luxury and refinement of the Spanish monarchy.
